Way to resilience

The conference enhanced the capacity of organizations offering psychosocial support to displaced Ukrainians. By fostering intra-European cooperation, the event aimed to establish multilateral, multi-level, and multi-stakeholder platforms to address common challenges. Furthermore, it sought to facilitate people-to-people contacts and knowledge transfer from the European Union (EU) to non-EU countries within the CEI membership.

The conference brought together a diverse range of experts from organizations that had provided Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) to displaced Ukrainians over the past year. Additionally, organizations specialized in MHPSS support for various crisis situations participated. Representatives from Albania, Bulgaria, Croatia, Hungary, Italy, Moldova, North Macedonia, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, and Ukraine attended the event. Esteemed speakers from Bulgaria, Ukraine, Poland, and Israel, from renowned organizations such as the International Organization for Migration, UNICEF, Israel Trauma Coalition, Animus, Institute of Supportive Communication, and Thistle and Lime Consulting, shared their valuable insights.

The importance of mental health and psychosocial support plays a crucial role in the successful socioeconomic integration of displaced individuals. Efforts in this area benefited from improved coordination and systematic approaches to address challenges, including limited resources and the absence of a structured framework. The implementation of sustainable and coordinated MHPSS interventions was of paramount significance. The conference provided a platform for the development of innovative strategies to improve psychosocial support for displaced Ukrainians.
